"A True Gem: Frankie's Deli" Frankie's Deli is more than just a place to grab a bite--it's a true destination. I've known this wonderful family for many years, dating back to when they operated as Yorktown Deli near Oakbrook Mall. I used to deliver Vienna Beef products to them, and I witnessed firsthand the passion and dedication they poured into their business. Their move to the new location as Frankie's Deli has only elevated their charm. The space is beautiful, and their team works seamlessly alongside the family, offering friendly and respectful service to every customer. It's clear that for them, this isn't just a business--it's a labor of love. Even though I'm from Forest Park, Frankie's Deli is well worth the trip. If you're craving an authentic and delicious Italian sandwich, I highly recommend making the drive. You won't just enjoy a great meal--you'll experience the warmth and hospitality of a true family-run establishment, where every visit feels like catching up with old friends. You can find them at 17W626 Butterfield Rd, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181--trust me, it's a visit you won't regret!

A delightful little Italian deli operating some kind of Italian micro-grocery on the side. Overawed by the menu, I got an Italian sub (with giardiniera added) whose only two defects were an overly pallid bland bread, and (dare I say it?) TOO MUCH MEAT! But I would happily come back and the only problem is too many delicious looking sandwiches to choose from.

Fresh and delicious food with reasonable prices. We tried the subs, meatball sandwich and outstanding beef/sausage combo

Great deli! When you walk in you know the food is authentic. The tables are a great place to enjoy your meal. Everyone helping us knew we were new to this adventure and they served us with smiles. The freezers and shelves took me back to living in little Italy. It felt like home. Everything we enjoyed for lunch and took home was fabulous. The prices were great. Can't wait to go back. We had a beef with hot peppers, pastrami, arancini. We went back through the line and brought home arancini frozen, Alfredo sauce, and some Christmas treats to save with the kids.

We stopped by Franki's Deli for meatball subs, and they did not disappoint! The flavor was spot-on, and the portions were just right. The place was buzzing with activity--people were constantly coming and going, which speaks to its popularity. Despite the crowd, service was efficient, and the food was worth the visit. A must-try for deli lovers!

All of this time I have been passing Frankie's Deli woefully ignorant of the wonder this spot holds. Stopped by at 11:45am on a weekday and if the full parking lot wasn't the first indication that this place is something special the long line clearly full of regulars sealed the deal. Don't let that line deter you if you happen to run into it though. The staff are on top of everything so it moves really fast. That provided me with just enough time to peruse the menu before making the decision to keep it simple. I ordered an Italian sub with everything on it. I did make the mistake of not noting that peppers are not included in the everything but the sandwich was still one of the better Italian subs I've had in recent memory. There is a lot of seating both inside and outside and even though the place was bustling I noted more than a few empty spots I could have taken to enjoy my sandwich right there if I had had the time. Staff were very friendly and as I mentioned before total pros at keeping things humming along. I can't wait for my next visit to Frankie's Deli.

Discovered this place on Yelp. I was looking for a light lunch and decided on Frankie's. I will say the line got a little cramped as it wrapped around the store. It was nice that they had a paper menu to review while waiting in line. The ordering process was a little intense. People don't get numbers and have to wait until a staff person I had a small Italian sub without onions, and it was tasty. Pasta salad was also good. Parking is a little cramped, but it is a big lot. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

Still one of the best pepper and egg sandwiches in the area. Grab some groceries, a sandwich and a beer and set the family to worrying. Fast, friendly and perfect.

Frankie's Deli is our go-to spot for deli sandwiches. My parents, husband, and daughters are big fans. Some of the our usual items are the Italian sub, Italian beef, roasted pork, and pastrami. My girls would split the large Italian beef, take it to town, and finish every bite without leaving any crumbs behind. My mom is vegetarian and there are plenty of options for her as well. She enjoys both the caprese and egg salad sandwiches. The Midwest, specifically Chicagoland, needs to have more of these quality Italian deli shops.

I have driven past Frankie's Deli dozens of times, and always wondered if it was any good. Yesterday, I had time to stop, and am glad i did. First, as a New Yorker transplanted to Chicago, I miss the real deli experience. (This is an Italian deli, not a Jewish deli. Love them both in their own way and the Midwest could use more of both.) The store front is modern and clean. I walked in and thought it does not feel like a NY deli, because it's not cramped with shelves of stuff looming over you. Rather, I was greeted by a lady offering samples of locally made limoncello. Then the bustling energy and sound of the place gave me that classic deli feel I was looking for. There must have been at least 8 guys in white paper hats behind the counter taking orders and serving food, a couple people at the register talking to customers like you would your neighbors, and ample seating inside and out to eat your food there if you choose. The deli counter line moved quickly. I didn't need to grab a number. I was trying to decide what kind of sandwich to pick, excited at the prospect of Italian special meats like soprasetta, capicola, prosciutto... With maybe some roasted red peppers and marinated artichoke hearts on top. But then I spotted a little prayer sigh that said "arancini", and theirs are big beautiful hearty rice balls. Not those little tiny bite sized ones a lot of restaurants have started serving as an appetizer. One of my favorite lunches is a great big rice ball stuffed with beef and peas and cheese, served in a bowl with a hearty dollop of sauce over the top. And Frankie's nailed it. Look at the picture below. I broke it open, so you see it's not fried hard like a chickie-nugget. It is tender to your fork, busting open like an Easter egg and inviting in the sauce. That's Italian stick to your ribs ribs comfort food. Multo Bene! It was so good, I brought some cold ones home, with cans of San Marzano tomatoes to make for the family this week. Next time, I will have to try the cannolis. I saw the shells waiting to be filled fresh. I bet there is a while counter of pastry, treats and bakery cookies I missed because my nose was following the savory delights.
